INSTITUTIONAL DISTINCTIVENESS

The institution is located in the rural area of Kokan and features an 860- bed hospital along with a sports complex that hosts both state and national level sporting events. The primary objective of the institution is to deliver comprehensive care to patients at the grassroots level. In collaboration with the affiliated hospital, the institution has established a wide range of services within the community, including health check- up camps, educational role plays, home visits, and various initiatives.

The community has been recognized for the services provided by the institution, particularly in relation to patients afflicted with cancer. Students are afforded numerous opportunities to deliver comprehensive care to these individuals. The institution excels in promoting awareness within the community about cancer and the latest treatment modalities available. Student nurses are given ample opportunities to enhance patient care through their knowledge, critical thinking, clinical expertise, and communication skills. Additionally, they have the opportunity to engage in evidence- based practice, research and innovation.

Student nurses will undoubtedly experience growth not only in their professional capacities but also in their intellectual, emotional, social and cultural dimensions. However, society must recognize the importance of valuing senior citizens, and care for the elderly, who often lack these from their own families.

Parents play a crucial role in instilling these values in their children; however, schools, colleges and other educational institutions should also play a significant part in nurturing these attributes among the youth. Institutions should take responsibility for empowering student nurses to implement programs that promote these qualities. This initiative not only allows them to demonstrate their skills and talents but also cultivates a sense of empathy towards the elderly. It encourages them to be active listeners, patiently teach technology, and appreciate the potential that the elderly wish to express.
